ISLAMABAD: Postmortem of a NAB investigation officer Kamran Faisal, who was found dead in his residence, has concluded here on Friday, hospital sources said. The NAB officer was assisting Investigation Officer Asgahr Khan in one of the country's mega corruption scandals related to Rental Power Projects also involving Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Body of Kamran Faisal was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Sources in the NAB said that the officer had been under strain for being part of the Rental Power case. Police said the officer was living in Federal Lodges and allegedly committed suicide. However, investigations were underway. According to the hospital sources, the postmortem of the slain official lasted for two hours and the autopsy report would be handed over to police. Meanwhile, samples are also sent to laboratory for forensic report which would likely to be obtained in 7 to 10 days. Final postmortem report would be prepared after receiving forensic report.

ISLAMABAD: The deceased National Accountability Bureau investigation officer, Kamran Faisal, suffered from various mental illnesses including schizophrenia, delusions, manic-depressive psychosis, anxiety disorder, insomnia, amnesia, and suicidal depression, Geo News reported. The medical reports acquired by Geo News revealed the details of his psychopathy. Reports show Kamran had been under the treatment of a psychiatrist, Dr Azra. One of the prescriptions shows she had diagnosed him almost with all the psychological disorders mentioned above. In one of her remarks on a report, she wrote, Kamran had suicidal tendencies. Kamran’s psychosis peaked in the year 2012, Geo News learnt. It must be mentioned that since 1999, Kamran was on Olanzia, a local brand of Olanzapine, a drug prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and poor emotional responsiveness. Common symptoms include auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction. The onset of symptoms typically occurs in young adulthood, with a global lifetime prevalence of about 0.3–0.7%. Diagnosis is based on observed behavior and the patient's reported experiences. - - Updated - - ISLAMABAD: According to the forensic report, Kamran Faisal was suffering from depression for the last four years due to his domestic problems. The investigation agencies have also received evidences of electronic messages in this regard. Kamran Faisal used to stay alone in his room for hours and his roommates had also complained about his isolation. Kamran has been residing in Federal Lodges and did not shift to his new house due to family disputes. The forensic test shows that the cause of Kamran’s death was breakage of neck bone, and the duration of injury and his death was three to five minutes. The report further says that no effects of poison were found in Kamran’s kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, stomach or blood. No marks of torture were found on internal and external organs of his body and his death seems to be an incident of suicide, the report says.
